We're counting the days now ..... we leave for Buenos Aires on May 31 via Madrid, arriving on June 2. Our car has gone already ... it is currently sitting in a container in the Port of Felixstowe waiting to be loaded on a ship leaving on May 10. At least I hope they've managed to get it in the container ... it was rather high! ... and one of the guys did say "Oh don't worry, I've got a big crowbar!!"
Have you ever seen the port of Felixstowe?!!! Literally thousands of containers stacked up 7 high!!! ...... ("Very sorry, I've left my house keys in the car ... can I get them out please?")
So in theory we arrive in Buenos Aires one day before our car ..... in theory ..... Insha'Allah
Then when we've spent another week trying to get our car through customs .... we set off vaguely south. The idea is to drive south until Ann thinks its too cold to look at any more penguins, dolphins and whales, then cut across to Chile and do some skiing, then start driving north along the Andes.
Next update soon.

love the feathers .....
John, Ann, just logged on to your "blogsite". We shall follow you regularly and hope that you can find time to write notes and, of course, find an Internet cafe to dispatch them. You're right about customs. Keep smiling and present your list. This has got us through many an Australian port.
Good luck and we shall keep in touch.

Hi Ann & John,
We know you are there but obviously not found an internet cafe yet. Hope you retrieved the jeep ok with an intact sun collector thingy on top. Good weather has come at last here but not before flood, earthquake, tropical storm and even fog tried to reduce the house to rubble. We survived!!
Looking forward to your posts. Wish you a really good time.

Hi Ann, John
Great to hear that your first experiences are positive (apart from customs, but then, never heard of anybody having positive experiences with customs anywhere . . .)
All the best, and keep in touch with your blog

I agree with the comment on feathers.
Great to get news from your adventure.

We had not taken the time to have a good look at your site since your departure. Woah! It is like reading the National Geographic. Even better than falling asleep in front of Thalassa on a Friday evening....
It is so good to see you there in the middle of those fantastic sceneries.
Ann - You should remember to bend your knees a bit more on your skis!
Enjoy! and let us share!
Kisses from the Maillard about to depart to the Ocean for a fortnight of vacations. (have a look in your dictionary in case you do not remember what it means) We shall have the waves but I am not so sure about the whales.
